Recapturing a moment. One year ago.

A year ago today I was flying over the oceans and continents headed to India.
Left Chicago Dec 30th and arrived in Delhi Dec 31st at 11pm just in time to ring in the New Year. Tonight I drove back from Atlanta to Chicago, not quiet the same sensation as arriving in a new country alone but still a nice feeling. Looking back to this moment in time I am reminded of the excitement and thrill I felt welling up inside of me as I rode the CTA, checked in at Ohare, went through security, and boarded that 15hr flight bound for India where my destiny would be clarified a tiny bit more. Spent the first 7 weeks of 2010 in India. Traveling, learning, exploring, photographing, conversing, watching, eating, communing, praying, making, desiring, translating, & dreaming.
Each and every moment from when I boarded that airplane until this moment as I sit here and type on my laptop in Chicago there have been a barrage of hopes, dreams, and new experience overflowing from my full heart.
I cant tell of my whole trip in India and its' everlasting effect on me at this moment, but daily I am reminded of moments I had there and continue to have an insatiable desire to return for an extended period of time. My eyes were opened to not only a new place, culture, and people, but also to myself and my own way of relating to the world.
It was an exploration and a presentation.
A traveler and a local.
Student and teacher.
Wander and follower.
Communicator and listener.
Leader and supporter.
All with an open heart and mind.

I look forward to all this next year holds as I am reminded of all the beautiful moments I experienced this past year. Maybe even in this year to come a trip back to India will be in the making.
What were you doing when 2010 started? What was your heart posture? Were you living your dream?

Happy New Year, follow your heart.

Christmas Vacation

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Its been a long while since Ive posted, sorry!
School came to an end, actually a lot of things came to an end.
Its nice now to be on a break and reassess life, what is important and what goals to set for this coming year when change will really be happening.
Graduating from college, whoa.
BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Id love to work at the MCA maybe? If they'd have me.
Also my BFA show is March 18th so during the month of Jan. while I am not in classes I will be preparing for that. Need to continue making work and see what will be ready to show at that point. Hopefully family & friends will come up to Chicago to see the show and celebrate with me! I'm super excited and looking forward to all that the future holds.
Happy New Year.
May this next season of your life challenge, surprise, and grow you in ways you never have imagined.
